Saturday, April 13, 2019 Help us kick off the 2019 Trail Season on the Trail de Paris with a bird and nature walk led by Texas Master Naturalist Nancee Salzman. Avery Proceeds will benefit the Avery VFD, which houses and maintains the AveryVFD Hostel. Route follows the NETT North East Texas Trail and portions of the RAT (Ride across Texas) gravel routes. Celebrate national Opening Day for Trails and kick off the spring trail season at "Paris Trail Fest" on Saturday, April 13th. Event features a free, come-and-go family bike ride from 1-4pm at the Love Civic Center Trailhead. Festivities include live music, giveaways, tasty food vendors, and a drawing for a specialized, 24” 7-speed bicycle. Bike safety and registration stations under the pavilion. Lots of outdoor fun!!
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets strongly recommended.

5th Annual Run the Rail Half Marathon
Each fall, the West Bowie County Rotary Club hosts a half-marathon fundraiser for the club. The date for this year’s race is October 10th, 2020. Participants may walk or run the entire course, or they may team up with two or four others to transverse half or a quarter of the course.
